To the outside, Colby Kelly is known as WGACA’s Director of Vintage Sales, but to all of us here, he’s more like the Prince of Cheesy Pop – and we mean that in the most endearing way possible. When we arrive in the early AM and there’s a 1980s Madonna classic blasting just a tad bit too loud, we immediately know whose pretty face is right around the bend (and we have to admit we enjoy some guilty pleasure music every now and again too). So, who better to go to when looking for fun-loving summer jams!? Below are Colby’s recommendations for, as he says: “a top-down, car-driving, swimsuit-wearing, sandy-bum summer.” Enjoy!
1. Lady Gaga - Summerboy
2. Stevie Nicks – Stand Back
3. Morrissey – Everyday is like Sunday
4. Sublime – Santeria
5. Debarge – Rhythm of the Night
6. Otis Redding – Sittin’ on The Dock of the Bay & Try A Little Tenderness
7. Hall & Oates – Say It Isn’t So
8. Weezer, Island in the Sun
9. Bruce Springsteen, Badlands
10. BONUS TRACK! New Kids on the Block, You Got It (the right stuff)
Tatsuya, or as we like to refer to him here, TT, is a lovely member of our sales staff and also just happens to be an amazing musical artist! His album, Invader, is currently on iTunes and he’s always making us smile with his cute compliments, hilarious impressions and killer dance moves. Below are his top ten songs for summer (we promise an eclectic mix), with a few recommendations off his own album, of course!
1. Call Me – Petula Clark
2. Dreamer – Astrud Gilberto
3. Ah! Mio Cor – Magdalena Kozena
4. Emotions – Mariah Carey
5. Mirror – Tatsuya
6. Something in Common – Bobby Brown x Whitney Houston
7. Youth Blood – Little Jinder
8. Fever – Tatsuya
9. Girl I Love You – Massive Attack
10. Model Church – The Bluegrass
