For our first Holiday 2021 Gifting Spotlight, we are reminiscing on Chanel's feminist-themed Spring 2015 runway show. Karl Lagerfeld built a 'Boulevard Chanel' and staged a demonstration in the French tradition of manifestations: taking to the streets in protest. To set the scene, models were dressed like suffragettes, carrying women’s rights signs. The clothing drew from counter-cultural style cues of the 1960s in the form of updated takes on military dressing and multicolor psychedelic prints as a more refined version of tie-dye.
One of the higher end bags in this collection is a metallic Newsprint Flap bag, covered in signature logos and feminist slogans. The graffiti newspaper print is one of the rarest and most unique Flap bags Chanel has ever released. It was made in four different variations—all painted carefully by hand. It was also famously modeled by Giselle Bündchen in the brand's S/S '15 "Afterdark" campaign. This limited edition runway piece was only available for a select few to purchase and we are lucky enough to have one in stock. The ultimate gift for the ultimate collector— you'll want to grab this before it's too late.
