We’ve talked in depth about the rich history of the one of the oldest luggage companies around; the one that started logo mania inadvertently yet intentionally so many decades before; Louis Vuitton on the blog time and time again. This time for their 160th Anniversary as a brand, LV spices it up.
“The Monogram Is The Timeless Icon Of The Maison Louis Vuitton. It Has Lived Through The Brand’s Countless Evolutions, Never Losing Its Essence. The Leading Testament To The Fashion House’s Success, It Was Only Natural That We Should Pay Homage To It,” Said Delphine Arnault.
Louis Vuitton EVP, Delphine Arnault and Nicholas Ghesquiere masterminded the project titled ‘Celebrating Monogram’ which invites 6 mega designers to refigure the classic monogram. They worked with designers across fields choosing Chanel and Fendi creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, renowned performance artist Cindy Sherman, architect Frank Gehry, shoe genius Christian Louboutin, industrial designer Marc Newson and the avant garde ‘crow’ herself, Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garcons. Take a look at the innovative designers celebrating the monogram. These were shot by Karl Lagerfeld for Harper’s Bazaar.
