In the early seventies, Ali MacGraw was one of the leading actresses in the world. During that time, she carved out a name for herself as a style maven; wearing flares, printed dresses and patent white boots, with a touch of preppy basics from her New England roots.

Born in upstate NY, Ali MacGraw worked in fashion before going behind the video lens. Working first as Diana Vreeland's photo assistant at Harper's Bazaar , MacGraw also spent time modeling and styling at Vogue. She had her first big break in Goodbye, Columbus in 1969 followed by her most famed role, in 1970's Love Story.

The actress won America's hearts not only in her roles, but in her off-duty style. Bell bottoms and turtlenecks, short shorts and skirts with trench- Ali always embodied carefree effortless style. Happy Birthday, Ali MacGraw!
