Music festivals are a love affair between camping and live music made famous by Woodstock. Though it was not the first music festival of its kind, the three-day concert in Bethel, NY drew an unintended half-million people. Two hours north of New York City concert-goers danced around to The Grateful Dead, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin on a dairy farm. This single music festival – that could never be revived to its full potential – will probably be the most infamous music festival in history.
A close second is Coachella. This year the festival is headlined by Beyoncé, The Weeknd, and Eminem. Since recent memory, Coachella has kicked off the music festival season and it seems that every region and most major cities have their own outdoor music festivals. They’ve changed a lot since the bohemian free love era of Woodstock. Many are high-tech, celebrity-filled and have become fodder for FOMO. What hasn’t changed in recent years is the fashion. Frankly, we’re over the flower crowns and face jewels. Here are three looks that give you total #festivalvibes without looking like a festival freshman. Put away the fringe, the bra tops and the belt bags and opt for these updates instead.
