In honor of the first true snow fall in New York today, let's take a look back at the October 1966 American Vogue story, The Great Fur Caravan.
Diana Vreeland, famed Harper's Bazaar and Vogue editor, remains a fashion icon and true innovator. One of her epic creations for Vogue, Vreeland casted Veruschka as 'The Girl with Fabulous Furs' with Richard Avedon behind the lens.
The group, including stylist Polly Mellen, traveled to the Japanese Alps to shoot an extravagant series of furs, mystic mountains and Veruschka, well being Veruschka.
