A classic, vintage Hermès Kelly Sellier 28 rendered in shiny lisse black alligator and accented with gold-plated hardware. This exquisite skin is sourced from the American Alligator (sp. Alligator Mississippiensis) which can be identified by the square next to the brand stamping. Besides the "cheat sheet" provided by Hermès, Alligator is instantly recognizable for its large, beautiful oblong plates and webbing pattern that gives any item produce in it a luxurious appearance. Includes lock, two keys, clochette, shoulder strap, and dust bag.
About the Kelly: First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). The Sellier has a more structured, rigid shape with distinct corners and visible exterior stitching, while the Retourne has a more relaxed, softer shape that has rounded edges as though the bag were turned inside out. It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly.
