Its name cites Place d'Alma's Parisian coordinates and was once rumored to be a personalized request by Coco Chanel, who was itching for a dome-shaped tote she could slot into her everyday handbag rotation. This iteration in particular comes crafted from glossy red Vernis leather with a coordinating canvas interior and gold-tone hardware. Optional shoulder strap included for versatile carry.
About the Monogram Vernis: A leather that was made to shine, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis leather was created during Marc Jacobs reign as creative director and is made out of calfskin leather, embossed with classic Monogram print, and finished with a glossy varnish, hence the name Vernis. Although the Vernis leather is water resistant, it is also sensitive to light, may color transfer, and can scratch easily.
