The destination of each cruise collection under Karl Lagerfeld’s creative direction was not only an exciting adventure to front-rowers and industry stars, but a muse and inspiration for everything that was to dance down the runway. It was Chanel, after all, that prompted the quote-unquote trend to have resort garb danced down faraway catwalks. While the idea of Havana, Cuba–where tensions with the United States had long been the result of Castro vs. democracy–was slightly farfetched, what danced down the runway was anything but that. In true Lagerfeld fashion, the Coco Cuba collection was a posh, Parisian interpretation of colorful, laid back and often romantic Hispanic dress. And so, it only makes sense that this Boy Bag silhouette–reimagined in the splashy hues you’d find strolling down any Havana street–was something to watch.
About the Boy Bag: Introduced in 2011, and designed by the late and great Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel Boy collection was said to be inspired by Coco Chanel's love of her life, Boy Capel, and his interpretation of her boyish charm. This collection comes in three sizes- small, medium, and large.
