"Design is a constant challenge to balance comfort with luxe, the practical with the desirable. "
Donna Karan
Artist Joachim Metz originally design this avian-themed scarf in 1984 to celebrate the colorful beauty of parrots in their tropical environment. Due to popular demand, it was later re-released in 2001 and featured a closer view of the design and no striped border.

About Hermès Scarves: Aside from featuring uniquely beautiful prints and patterns, the craftsmanship going into the creation of each scarf is an art in and of itself. It can take up to 750 hours to hand-engrave the intricate screens used for printing and because every color gets its own screen it can take up to six months to silk-screen a single scarf. The minimum number of colors an Hermès carré can have is five with most scarves having an average of 27. Hermès works with a collective of artists that each bring their individual style to life in every print they design.
