Nirvana "Sliver" Tee
  • Released in 1992, "Sliver" by Nirvana was a non-album single written by Kurt Cobain featuring Mudhoney drummer Dan Peters, who was in Nirvana for exactly one show. This track ranks among the highest in Nirvana's discography and is a great example of the grunge wave that took over the early 1990s.
  • Kurt Cobain and Nirvana will forever be heralded as rock royalty. Their role in bringing Seattle's grunge rock scene to the fore cemented their legendary status in the early 1990s. The front-runner Kurt Cobain, with his highs, lows and eventual suicide is still a source of inspiration to many artists and musicians today. His anti-establishment message coupled with his unabashed support for LGBTQ issues and woman's rights all worked to show just how powerful popular music could be.
