WGACA's Unrivaled Commitment to Authentic Luxury

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, What Goes Around Comes Around has become the most trusted source for pre-owned luxury. From our knowledgeable buyers to our in-house team of meticulously trained authenticators, we use experts at every stage of the process to thoroughly inspect each piece we offer.

At WGACA, authenticity is our top priority. Our authenticators use years of research and data to reference key design details and quality standards set by the brands we carry. By comparing these details to the extensive collection of references we’ve internally documented, our experts are able to pinpoint irregular or unexpected variances. Each piece purchased from WGACA has been carefully selected, inspected, and is guaranteed authentic.

Spotting counterfeits requires trained eyes, deep product knowledge, and constant exposure to evolving design standards. It’s this refined expertise that allows our team to confidently identify the hallmarks of authenticity across a wide range of designer pieces.

Why Every Detail Matters

Every single item is checked individually by an expert authenticator.

We are extremely proud of the patience and care that goes into authenticating each and every piece sold by WGACA. We don’t believe in unreasonable quotas or rushing the process, we take our time to ensure the highest confidence in our determinations.

We conduct extremely detailed research of the counterfeit market.

Our team collects data on exactly how counterfeits are made and the unique signifiers they possess which we can compare to authentic items. Research is everything in authentication and that includes learning about the enemy.

We are constantly improving our methods and using technology to advance our processes.

There is always something new to learn and ways to make the process better. Our team stays up to date on the latest in everything from the physical tools we can use to the technological advancements occurring industry wide that we can take advantage of.

The Precision-Driven Steps We Take to Guarantee Authenticity

Decades of Data in our Database

Years of documentation and reference building allows us to identify even the most subtle variations and brand-specific quirks that occur in luxury products.

Expertise Backed by Thousands of References

Our experts use brand knowledge, product history, and proprietary databases to verify every detail. Date codes, serial numbers, blind stamps, factory marks, fonts, and locations are all cross-referenced to match the item’s make, model, and year.

Microscopic-Level Inspection

From hardware and stitching to materials and finishes, each item undergoes microscopic examination to confirm consistency with brand standards and to flag even the slightest irregularity.

A Pressure-Free Approach

Authenticity takes time. Our team works with intention (never rushed and never driven by unrealistic quotas) to ensure every item gets the careful attention it deserves.

Zero Tolerance for Risk

When it comes to authenticity, we take no chances. Every piece must meet our highest standard in order to move forward.

Authenticity FAQs

Yes. WGACA’s team of highly skilled authenticators examine every single piece to ensure only authentic items are made available for sale.

Every item sold by WGACA is authenticator reviewed. In the unlikely event that an item was determined inauthentic by external professional analysis, we would take the item back to be reviewed by our authentication team. If our authentication team were to conclude an item sold by WGACA was not authentic, we would uphold our guarantee with a full refund.

Each item sold by WGACA comes with a Letter of Authenticity which acts as proof of expert authenticator review while also displaying some of the details about the item such as style, color and serial number. To learn more about our LOAs, watch the video above.

The physical location of the serial number / date code on any item varies depending on the brand, style, year, or even location of production. Our authentication team is knowledgeable about these variances and have clocked countless hours in research and data collection to confidently verify the serial / date code on any item that was manufactured with one.

It is important to note that not all brands or items are made with serial numbers or date codes. There are dozens of details to examine aside from codes on every piece. Our team does not rely on any single detail such as serial number; we make sure all the details together make up an authentic item in its original state.

From the rare and unusual to the most popular it-bag of the season, we give each item an individualized examination to review its authenticity. Every piece is researched including ultra-rare and hard to find items. We dig deep into the fashion archives to learn about the history of the item, when it was made, and all its unique nuances to ensure its details are accurate. We have seen a lot of rare items in our 30 years in the game, so we know what to look for, even when it’s almost impossible to find anywhere else.

After many years of documenting thousands of styles and building an extensive collection of references, our experts can spot when an item’s features are not in line with its brand standards, the item’s year of production, country of origin, and so on. We cross reference date codes, serial numbers, and blind stamps to confirm the factory, font, and location correspond with the style and year of production of the item. When examining the design elements of each piece such as the hardware, stitching and material under digital microscope, we check that all materials are up to the unique quality standards set by each brand and pinpoint any potential irregularities or unexpected variances.

WGACA does not offer private authentication services at this time.
