First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly. This authentic pre-owned Natural Kelly Sellier 28cm is rendered in Vache Liegee leather and accented with Palladium-plated hardware. Vache Liegee leather was introduced in 2004 and is a natural-grained leather that is purported to be stretched eight different ways during the tanning process, giving it a two-tone grain and light sheen. Includes lock, two keys and clochette.
