Originally launched as the 2.55, the bag featured a rectangular turnlock closure and a long chain strap, as Coco Chanel was tired of carrying her purse in her hands. Thanks to the creative genius of Karl Lagerfeld, the bag was updated to the Classic Flap we know, love, and recognize.
