First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly. This pre-owned authentic Kelly Retourne 28 is crafted from Gulliver leather and accented with gold-plated hardware. Gulliver leather was discontinued in 1999 (and subsequently reintroduced in 2005 as Swift leather) and is known for its fine grain that is soft to the touch and reflects light, giving it a shimmer-like quality. Includes shoulder strap, lock, two keys, and clochette.
