When Hermès' own Jean-Louis Dumas sat down next to Jane Birkin on a flight, he had no idea he was about to create history. When Jane Birkin discussed her need for a sizeable (yet chic) weekender, Dumas immediately got to work designing the perfect bag for her needs. In 1984, we were introduced to the Birkin, which would quickly become the most coveted bag in history, thanks (in part) to the 48 hours it takes to hand-assemble this exquisite piece, as well as the extensive wait list you'll need to join to purchase one from stores. An iconic and ultra-rare entry in the Hermès Birkin canon, this authentic pre-owned Birkin 35 is rendered in matte-finished alligator leather with gold-plated hardware. This exquisite leather is sourced from the Florida Alligator Mississippiensis and features an umbilical scar and webbing pattern that is instantly recognizable. Includes lock, two keys, and a clochette.
