Law Roach x WGACA

From humble beginnings in Chicago, Illinois to establishing himself as the premiere stylist of Hollywood, Law Roach is a name synonymous with high fashion, glamour, and power. Whether it’s reinvigorating Celine Dion’s fashion image or cementing Zendaya as an icon of the red carpet, Law’s influence is all over modern luxury. With an adept eye for fashion, it should come as no surprise that a collaboration with vintage fashion mainstay What Goes Around Comes Around (WGACA) was written in the stars. As the premiere vintage fashion retailer, WGACA has remained a relevant and established brand for more than 30 years, servicing clients, celebrities, and fashion tastemakers, and continually delivering on the promise of keeping the fashion industry cyclical, environmentally sound, and attainable to everyone.

Early Roots in Vintage

Law Roach grew up in the Southside of Chicago and started his career as a fashion broker, collecting and curating vintage pieces. He would eventually open his first vintage fashion boutique, Deliciously Vintage, in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. In 2009, Kanye West happened by the store, and with him came droves of attention and paparazzi, putting Law’s name and business into the zeitgeist. Following the success of the Pilsen boutique, Law would open another location in Harlem.

Making Fashion History

Thanks to his curation and knowledge of vintage fashion, Law would begin to style rising star Zendaya, who had difficulty finding stylists to work with her due to her age; the two met thanks to a mutual friend of both Law and Zendaya’s father. The two have worked together since their fateful meeting in 2011, and Zendaya is considered the premier fashion icon of her generation.

In 2017, Law would make history as the first black fashion stylist to appear on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter, alongside his clients Zendaya and Celine Dion. Law had this to say about his history making appearance: "So proud to be the first African American stylist to be featured on the cover on The Hollywood Reporters 25 most powerful stylist issue. I'm still filled with so much emotion. Thank you, a million times, to everyone who made this happen."

Law Roach has since worked with icons like Hunter Schafer, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Ariana Grande, continuing to build a legacy and establish his place not only in the fashion world, but the entertainment industry as a whole. Law has famously appeared as a judge on shows such as RuPaul's Drag Race, America’s Next Top Model, and Legendary, leading his influence to reach more than those just interested in the world of fashion.

A Lifelong Love for Vintage

Law’s first foray into fashion was during church on Sundays with his grandmother. He considered the services his first fashion shows. After church, the pair would go thrifting, where he had a keen eye for spotting diamonds in the rough. Law opened Deliciously Vintage with college friend Siobhan Strong, and the two would attend estate sales and auctions to source the vintage pieces that stocked the walls at the store. Law’s love for and keen eye for vintage would lead to the perfect ambassadorship with WGACA.

“WGACA was the only choice for this collaboration because of their unmatched expertise in authentication and their deep respect for fashion history. They understand that these pieces aren't just clothing, they're cultural artifacts that deserve to be preserved and celebrated by people who truly appreciate their significance," Law would say at WGACA’s NYFW launch party.

WGACA: Curating Fashion’s Legacy

Founded by vintage fashion lovers Seth Wessier and Gerard Maione in 1993, WGACA sources iconic authentic vintage pieces with the hopes of keeping the fashion industry cyclical and alive.

Maione had this to say about WGACA’s ambassadorship with Law: “Partnering with Law Roach as our brand ambassador felt less like a decision and more like recognizing a true creative counterpart. Few move through fashion’s lineage with his reverence: honoring its roots, threading its stories, catching the quiet poetry in every seam. His eye is the very echo of What Goes Around Comes Around; authenticity, curation, and the art of time well kept. We’re honored to open his archives, letting these pieces breathe again, alive with memory, ready for their next chapter.”

The Ambassadorship

The Ambassadorship between Law and WGACA is the result of two vintage fashion enthusiasts joining to spread the word and their love for the past and how it fits into the future. Fashion tastemakers and purveyors have the opportunity to purchase both exclusive pieces from Law’s own fashion archive and his handpicked accessories from WGACA’s own curation. Law’s personal collection features everything from Yohji Yamamoto to Christian Dior, with each piece steeped in a rich and illustrious history. “This partnership represents a pivotal moment where my personal passion for vintage fashion meets the opportunity to share these incredible pieces with fellow collectors and fashion lovers," said Law Roach.
