It was a wonderful year full of new partnerships and expanded opportunities to shop the finest luxury vintage from What Goes Around Comes Around.

From redesigning our flagship retail location in New York City, joining Amazon’s Luxury Stores, and increasing our charitable efforts locally and globally, this year ended on a high note with a positive outlook for the upcoming year. Read on for more on WGACA’s notable events that took place in 2022.

Spring: Wooster/Soho Grand Reopening Party

We started off the year right by reopening our NYC stores in style - with a reopening party we’re still not over! Our WGACA family showed up and showed out. We had Katie Holmes in vintage Chanel gushing over vintage pieces she couldn’t live without and Thomas Doherty checking out our new interiors. It-girls Ellie Thurman and Lameka Fox browsed racks on the hunt for that super special piece. Our newly renovated flagship included carefully sourced vintage furniture, tile, and light fixtures for a fully immersive vintage experience.

Fall: NYFW Styling Suite

In the Fall we celebrated New York Fashion Week with a styling suite hosted out of our newly renovated flashship at 351 W Broadway, collaborating with tastemakers, editors, and influencers. We collaborated with L’Agence, supplying our vintage jewelry and accessories for their NYFW Presentation, and partnered with VFiles, sharing our special vintage pieces to dress performers for their VFiles Rocks Event. Every day, a revolving door of influencers, celebrity stylists, and editors would come in and choose the special pieces that they were drawn to.

Newly appointed Editor-in-Chief of L’Officiel Magazine, Caroline Grosso, chose a gorgeous white Chanel suit and Elle Deputy Editor Claire Stern gravitated towards a Chanel Boston Bag in red leather. To start the week, Caroline Vazzana wore our vintage Dior silk maxi dress to the Vogue Magazine Kickoff party. Emily Ratakowski stepped out in our vintage Alaïa pony hair coat for a night of NYFW events. From the Vogue Magazine Kickoff Party to The Blonds NY Runway Show to the L’Agence Presentation, editors, tastemakers, and influencers wore WGACA.

Fall: Amazon Launch / CFDA Collaboration

In October we had the pleasure of being the first luxury pre owned retailer to launch on Amazon Luxury Stores! Your favorites from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and more available on Amazon through us.

In partnership with Amazon, we celebrated the CFDA's 60th anniversary with a curation of pre-loved apparel from the 1960s to early 2000s sourced by us. From a true vintage feather trim coat by Bill Blass to an iconic Rick Owens coat, it was a fitting retrospective for a major moment in CFDA history and a treat for vintage lovers alike.

Winter: The New York Edit Auction & Holiday Party

This Winter we celebrated our collaboration with Christie’s Auction House for their Holiday Auction: The New York Edit. We supplied some of our most-coveted and rare vintage items from Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton, which were displayed at our Holiday Preview Party. Held at our newly renovated SoHo flagship store on West Broadway, we offered guest cocktails provided by On The Rocks Cocktails with light bites. The event was hosted by Annabelle Dexter-Jones with special guests Jenna Lyons and Molly Ringwald. Our guest list included Lynn Yeager, Sophia Dennis, Lionbabe, and Amy Julliette Lefévre.

Our most exclusive pieces included in the auction were a Fonce Doblis 35cm Hermès Birkin, a Chestnut Ostrich 32cm Hermès Kelly, and a Fuchsia Ostrich 20cm Mini Kelly. The assortment also includes WGACA-sourced ready-to-wear pieces like a vintage Spring 1998 Chanel Purple Tweed Skirt Set, a collectible Hermès bicycle, and a limited edition Louis Vuitton Brown Monogram Velour Dou Dou Teddy Bear.

Year-Long & Ongoing: Charity Efforts

What Goes Around Comes Around chose to give back in many ways throughout this year and participated in charity efforts with local organizations like God’s Love We Deliver and New York Cares. For the grand re-opening event at our West Broadway retail location and our Christie’s Holiday party, we welcomed the co-founders of God’s Love We Deliver to help spread awareness for their cause. To continue our company efforts in giving back, a team of WGACA employees volunteered with New York Cares and The Bronx is Blooming nonprofit to beautify Walter Gladwin Park. For the holiday season, we partnered with climate change company Ecologi. For every WGACA sale in the month of December, Ecologi will be planting a tree to contribute to the reforestation of the world.
