For the second collection of noteworthy items from the What Goes Around Comes Around headquarters, we’re spotlighting our Marketing Manager Barbara Beach to get her take on The 5 Coolest Pieces. She tells us “Working in marketing has its tedious moments of sitting behind a desk writing pitches and trying to anticipate Adam Mosseri’s next moves, but the product that comes across my desk on a weekly basis definitely makes things more interesting.” While some items might be a first, others are just a unique interpretation of the classics we know and love.

In this post you’ll find an ultra-chic bottle holder, a coveted version of a Chanel classic, an exclusive special-order Birkin, a limited-edition Hermès home collectible, and rare pieces from Louis Vuitton’s “it” collection of the early 2000s. We want to make sure you don’t miss a single thing, so read on for Barbara’s top picks, product knowledge, and of course shoppable links to get the look for yourself.

About the Collection:

Designed by the late & great Karl Lagerfeld, the Spring/Summer 2014 collection drew inspiration from various art processes and embraced themes of both deconstruction and reconstruction. The runway show was held at the Grand Palais museum in Paris, France and featured an interior flanked with Lagerfeld-concepted art pieces. Each piece incorporated brand signatures like the Camellia flower and No. 5 perfume bottles. Lagerfeld took apart the known constructs of the brand and reassembled them in a familiar yet fresh way. Take this featured Mini Flap for example: the traditional plaid pattern has been hand-painted graffiti-style and accented with multicolor paint splotches, rendering the Classic Flap bag an entirely new work of art.

3. Dom Pérignon x Louis Vuitton Vachetta Leather Bottle Holder

Created in collaboration with Dom Pérignon, this limited-edition bottle holder features a bucket-style silhouette, crafted in natural Vachetta leather with green microfiber lining, accented with gold-tone brass hardware and a leather carrying strap.

ABOUT THE COLLABORATION:

Louis Vuitton is well-known for their unexpected and innovative collaborations. An early yet iconic one is the limited collection with vintage champagne brand Dom Pérignon. The original version of the set pictured here came equipped with a bottle of champagne, the LV Vachetta bottle holder, and even a Dom Pérignon x Louis Vuitton cardboard case that’s proven just as covetable as what’s inside. Other pieces from the collection include a “tasting trunk”, an ice bucket, crystal glasses, ruthenium spoons, crystal plates, and, of course, six bottles of the vintage champagne. The merging of these two luxury brands is the epitome of class (and collectibility).

4. Silver Prix Lionel Guerrand- Hermès Sparte Serving Tray

A limited-edition piece from the 2002 Lionel Guerrand-Hermès Trophy ceremony, this silver Sparte serving tray features ceremony details engraved on the top, finished with two tan leather handles secured with round knobs.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

Hermès’ start in 1837 as a small saddle and harness manufacturing company gave way to a fashion powerhouse that remains loyal to its equestrian heritage. In 1983, sports entrepreneur and Hermès’ director of the equestrian division Patrick Guerrand-Hermès started a new tradition. Only furthering the fashion house’s roots in riding, he began presenting a trophy in honor of his late son, Lionel Guerrand- Hermès. Lionel was a promising young rider, so a highly regarded namesake trophy has been awarded to an exceptional equestrian of Olympic disciplines each year since. This commemorative piece is from the 2002 Lionel Guerrand- Hermès Trophy ceremony and is a highly collectible piece of equestrian memorabilia.

5. Silver Monogram Miroir Alma GM

Designed by Marc Jacobs for the 2006 Louis Vuitton runway show, this striking interpretation of Louis Vuitton’s Alma GM features a patent leather that is so perfectly finished that it has a mirror-like effect, hence the name Monogram Miroir.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

Originally debuted in the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2006 runway collection, the Monogram Miroir was an instant hit. From trend-setting celebrities to avid handbag collectors, this was the “it” collection of the early 2000s. The Monogram Miroir patent leather was seen on many of Louis Vuitton’s classic silhouettes and even on newer models in the following years. Perhaps one of the most memorable pieces to come from the collection was the Monogram Miroir Alma GM…and one has recently entered the WGACA Headquarters. We’re nostalgically reminiscing on paparazzi shots of the iconic celeb BFFs toting around their matching Almas. This specific piece hasn’t hit the website just yet but check back later this week to grab one for your collection.
