New York Fashion Week is back in full force this fall. NYFW marks that special time of reuniting with friends after a long summer, sprinting from event to event, and getting excited over fall fashion on the runway. Walk down any street below 25th and it’s impossible not to notice. Fashion week is in the air as you dodge groups of influencers shooting content in Soho, editors in black SUVs, and models in their black casting outfits on the subway. This year What Goes Around NY chose to participate in NYFW by hosting a styling suite in our Flagship store at 351 W Broadway, collaborating with tastemakers, editors, and influencers. We collaborated with L’Agence, supplying our vintage jewelry and accessories for their NYFW Presentation, and partnered with VFiles, sharing our special vintage pieces to dress performers for their VFiles Rocks Event.

With the help of Erick, a WGACA stylist at our Beverly Hills location, we remerchandsed our entire store to make it a special space for Fashion Week. In The Vault, we curated essentially a dream closet for those attending Fashion Week. “We want clients to go through the store like they’re going on an adventure,” Erick explains, “everything is pretty much one of a kind so the flow encourages customers to look at every single piece.” Fashion week favors the bold, whatever that means for you. Between pink fur vintage Alaïa coats and sleek Saint Laurent dresses, our NYFW styling suite encourages even the professionals to dive deeper into their styles. “When it comes to fashion, trends are becoming less relevant” Erick says thoughtfully, “we are rewarding people who think outside of the box.” What Goes Around’s unique vintage style reflects this intersection of trendiness (our y2k and 90s pieces are having a major resurgence thanks to trends) and unique style (no one is going to have the special pieces you find in our stores). Our styling suite in The Vault hones in on this part of our brand DNA, combining true vintage re-emerging trends with amazing one of a kind pieces.

Every day, a revolving door of influencers, celebrity stylists, and editors would come in and choose the special pieces that they were drawn to. Newly appointed Editor-in-Chief of L’Officiel Magazine, Caroline Grosso, chose a gorgeous white Chanel suit and Elle Deputy Editor Claire Stern gravitated towards a Chanel Boston Bag in red leather. To start the week, Caroline Vazzana wore our vintage Dior silk maxi dress to the Vogue Magazine Kickoff party. Emily Ratakowski stepped out in our vintage Alaïa pony hair coat for a night of NYFW events.

From the Laquan Smith Runway Show to the Sergio Hudson Afterparty, influencer and model Pierrah was seen in our vintage Chanel bags, Roberto Cavalli jeans, Emilio Pucci dress, and Chanel belt. Cortne Bonilla, Fashion & Beauty Editor for Editorialist Magazine carried our vintage Chanel bag as she sprinted from one show to another. Tiktok superstar Jae Gurley stopped by our store to style their dream looks and take their 1.7M followers on a journey to one of their first ever fashion week events! Mother, entrepreneur, and influencer Rocky Barnes layered our vintage Chanel chain belts and micro mini belt bag to attend the L’Agence NYFW Presentation. From the Vogue Magazine Kickoff Party to The Blonds NY Runway Show to the L’Agence Presentation, editors, tastemakers, and influencers wore WGACA.

Held on September 9th in the famed Boom Boom Room of the Standard Hotel, the L’Agence NYFW Presentation featured vintage accessories from What Goes Around NY. Vintage Chanel earrings sparkled in the sunset light cascading off the Hudson. Chanel Belts accented beautiful clothes as the models posed for the crowd. True to the What Goes Around NY brand DNA, L’Agence styled our vintage Chanel chain belts in our favorite underappreciated way - as a necklace!

On Sunday night, What Goes Around NY lent out pieces to fashion multi-hyphenate, VFiles, for their event “VFiles Rocks,” a charity event geared towards sustainability in fashion. The event kicked off with musical and dance performances from Doechii, Baby Tate, and Gabe Stone Shayer to name a few. Our amazing vintage pieces went to styling the performers in the event. From vintage Versace silk button-ups to Jean-Paul Gaultier mesh tops, the style was edgy and elevated. As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, we are so excited to dive into the next phase of fall! Stay tuned for new partnerships, exciting content, and of course new to-die-for vintage pieces on our website and in-store!
