" Too much good taste can be very boring. Independent style, on the other hand, can be very inspiring. "
Diana Vreeland
This limited edition piece was introduced in 2009 as a part of the Paris-Moscow collection that speaks to the exquisite and ornate aesthetic of the Russian monarchy. The exterior is hand-painted with metallics on buffalo leather and has a foil-like finish. The bag is accented with bronze-tone Bijoux chain shoulder straps that feature a caged egg charm that holds three pearl-like orbs

About the Reissue 2.55: Not to be confused with the Classic Flap, the 2.55 bag features the silhouette's original turnlock design (appropriately named the Mademoiselle Lock) in a rectangular shape (the 'CC' turnlock was introduced by Karl Lagerfeld and thus the bag was re-branded as the Classic Flap). 2.55 refers to the bag's original release date of February 1955 and the double chain strap pays homage to the key holder straps that the caretakers held at the orphanage where Coco herself grew up.
