First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag, referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). This classic pre-owned authentic Courchevel leather structured Kelly is finished with gold-tone hardware. Courchevel leather is now retired by Hermès but was the predecessor to Epsom leather; like Epsom, Courchevel leather has an embossed even grain and is lightweight and easy to clean.
