First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag, referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably while she was pregnant, using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly. This authentic pre-owned Kelly Retourne is crafted from Box leather and accented with gold-plated hardware. Box leather is the original leather of the house, known for its propensity to show a rich patina with repeated use. Includes lock, two keys, and a clochette.
